Synaxis is an Orthodox Christian calendar, fasting, reading and prayer companion published by Evelaina. This policy covers the Android app distributed through Google Play. No Synaxis account is required. Reading content is bundled in the app, and Evelaina does not operate an app-data server or receive your saved devotional data.
Your calendar convention, appearance preferences, prayer counts and history, saved family names and name-days, reminder choices and playback position are stored locally on your device. Android device backup may include this data according to your device and backup settings, and may restore it when you reinstall the app or move to another device. Evelaina does not receive this backup.
Synaxis uses Google Play Billing to check, purchase and restore the optional Synaxis Pro entitlement. Google processes payments; Synaxis does not receive your payment-card details. Billing Library 9 also sends SDK diagnostics to Google, including billing API results and connection errors, device and operating-system information, app version and a per-client session identifier. These diagnostics support analysis and improvement of the billing service. They are distinct from your prayer history, saved family names and reading content, which Synaxis does not upload to Evelaina or Google.
Diagnostic collection is automatic when the billing SDK runs; there is no Synaxis diagnostic opt-out control. Synaxis may also ask Google Play to display its in-app review interface. Google Play purchases, SDK diagnostics and review handling are subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Synaxis has no advertising SDK or custom usage-analytics service, and does not request location, contacts, microphone or advertising-ID access. Evelaina does not sell your data.
When you tap Listen, public bundled reading text is passed to the installed Android text-to-speech engine using an available offline English voice. Voice data may need to be installed separately. The engine is provided by your device or its speech provider; Evelaina does not receive an audio recording or microphone input. User-initiated playback may continue in the background, with media controls to pause, resume or stop it. Synaxis does not start playback at boot.
Fasting reminders and Pro family name-day reminders are optional. New reminders start only after you enable them and allow notifications. They are scheduled locally and may be delayed by Android battery restrictions. Family notifications may display the saved family label and saint's name on your device, including the lock screen depending on your notification settings. The home-screen widget displays the current fast and feast. Android boot handling refreshes enabled local schedules and widget data.
Internet access supports Google Play purchases, entitlement checks, SDK diagnostics and reviews. Notification permission supports enabled reminders. A media-playback foreground service and wake lock support requested audio playback. Boot-completed handling renews local reminders and widget information. Synaxis does not request exact-alarm or full-screen-intent permission.
Synaxis Pro is an optional one-time Google Play purchase. Google handles payment and purchase records under its policies. The app receives purchase information needed to verify and restore the Pro entitlement, including the product and purchase state; it does not send receipts to an Evelaina server.
Google Play's Data safety section provides the app's release declaration. The billing SDK's diagnostic data handling is described above. Your local prayer history, saved family data and preferences are not collected by Evelaina. See the app's current Google Play Data safety section for the release declaration.
Synaxis does not ask users to create accounts or provide personal information to Evelaina. The Google Play services described above apply when used. We do not knowingly solicit children's personal information.
You can remove saved family rows in the app. Android's app-storage controls or uninstalling remove the app's local data; a device backup may remain according to your backup settings. Evelaina has no app-data server record to delete. Google processes billing diagnostics and purchase records under its own retention and privacy policies. If you choose to contact support, your email and the information you send are used to respond to your request.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
