Synaxis: Orthodox Calendar

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 1, 2026

Overview

Synaxis ("the App") is an Orthodox Christian calendar, fasting, and prayer companion published by Evelaina. Synaxis is local-first: its calendar, fasting guidance, saint lives, scripture, prayers, name-days, reminders, preferences, and prayer history remain on your device. Version 1.5.0 adds Meta's SDK so Evelaina can measure whether its own advertisements lead to app installs and purchases. Synaxis still displays no ads.

Information processed for attribution

Synaxis sends limited app-event and attribution information to Meta for third-party advertising measurement and analytics. Events include app activation, onboarding completion, viewing the Synaxis Pro paywall, starting a purchase, and completing a verified purchase. Purchase events include the product, value, currency, and time; Synaxis does not send your Apple payment details.

Meta's SDK may process device and app information, device identifiers such as IDFA when permitted, IP address, advertising and attribution information, product interaction, and purchase history. Our App Store privacy label declares Device ID, Purchase History, Product Interaction, and Advertising Data as linked to you and used for tracking for third-party advertising and analytics.

App Tracking Transparency

Synaxis asks for permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. If you allow tracking, iOS permits use of the advertising identifier and Meta can use eligible event data for advertiser tracking and campaign optimization. If you decline, Synaxis remains fully functional and does not receive access to IDFA. The SDK may still send limited app events without IDFA, and Apple may provide aggregate attribution through SKAdNetwork. You can change this choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

What stays on your device

Your calendar jurisdiction, appearance and accent preferences, saved family name-days, reminder settings, Jesus-Prayer counts and history, and other devotional state are stored on your device. Synaxis has no account or sign-in, and Evelaina operates no server that receives this devotional data. The Home-Screen widget reads only the shared on-device jurisdiction preference. This devotional data is not sent to Meta.

Notifications

If you enable fast-day or name-day reminders, iOS schedules them locally on your device. Synaxis uses no push-notification server, and reminder content is not sent to Meta.

Purchases

Synaxis Pro is a one-time purchase processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. Apple handles payment and refunds; Evelaina does not receive your payment-card or Apple Account credentials. Synaxis sends Meta a verified purchase event containing the product, value, currency, and time for advertising attribution. Restoring a purchase changes entitlement only and does not create a new Meta purchase event. Apple's privacy policy governs Apple's transaction processing.

Third parties

Apple processes App Store purchases and aggregate SKAdNetwork attribution under Apple's privacy policy. Meta receives the attribution information described above to measure and optimize Evelaina's advertising. Meta's collection, retention, use, and deletion practices are governed by Meta's Privacy Policy at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/. Synaxis does not integrate another analytics or advertising SDK and does not display third-party ads.

Information Synaxis does not ask for

Synaxis does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, postal address, Apple Account credentials, contacts, photos, microphone, precise location, or coarse location. It does not send your prayer text, prayer counts, saved name-days, reminder content, scripture reading, calendar choice, or fasting activity to Meta.

Children's Privacy

Synaxis is rated 4+ and is not specifically directed to children under 13. It does not ask any user for contact information or account credentials. Apple's operating-system rules determine whether App Tracking Transparency permission can be requested on a device; when iOS does not permit tracking, Synaxis does not receive IDFA. Contact us if you have a concern about a child's use of the App.

Data controls, deletion, and retention

You can withdraw tracking permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Deleting Synaxis removes its local devotional data and attribution ledger from that device. Evelaina has no Synaxis account or server profile to look up by your name or email. Apple retains purchase records under Apple's policies, and Meta retains attribution data under Meta's policies; deleting the App does not itself delete records those companies are legally or operationally required to retain. Requests concerning Meta-held data should follow Meta's Privacy Policy. You may also contact support@evelaina.com and we will respond to a privacy request we can act on.

App Store Privacy Label

The App Store privacy label for Synaxis declares Device ID, Purchase History, Product Interaction, and Advertising Data as linked to you and used for tracking for third-party advertising and analytics.

Changes to This Policy
