These terms govern your use of Zawal. They are intentionally short and written in plain language. By installing or using Zawal, you agree to them.
Zawal is licensed, not sold. Apple grants you the right to install and use the app on devices you own or control, in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions (Apple's Standard EULA): apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. Those terms apply in full alongside this document. Where the two conflict, Apple's Standard EULA controls only as required by Apple's rules; otherwise these terms control.
You may not reverse-engineer the app, redistribute it, or attempt to circumvent the Pro entitlement system.
Zawal is a private, offline companion that calculates Muslim prayer times and the direction of the Qibla, sends optional prayer alerts with a recorded adhan or a short tone, keeps a record of your prayers on your iPhone, shows a Ramadan countdown, offers Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, and a quiet Quran close after each prayer. It is provided for your personal, non-commercial use.
The Arabic Quran text in the app is reproduced from the Tanzil project under the Creative Commons Attribution licence, verbatim and unmodified, and the English meaning is the public-domain Pickthall translation. The adhan recordings come from public domain and openly licensed sources (one under Creative Commons Attribution 3.0), trimmed for use as alert sounds; each is credited in the app under Sources and privacy. The offline city database is derived from GeoNames under the Creative Commons Attribution licence, and prayer times are computed with the open-source Adhan algorithm.
Prayer times, every calculation method, the Qibla, alerts with one adhan voice, today's prayer record and the last seven days, the Ramadan countdown and the next-prayer widgets work without Zawal Pro. Zawal Pro is optional and adds your full prayer history and statistics, the qada ledger with a plan, more adhan voices with a sound for each prayer and a tone before the adhan, travel places, the Ramadan fasting log, the tracker widget and an export of your record.

The Zawal name, brand, app design, source code, and original UI text are owned by Evelaina. The Quran text (Tanzil, CC BY), the Pickthall translation (public domain), the adhan recordings (public domain, CC0 and CC BY 3.0), the GeoNames city data (CC BY), and the Adhan algorithm (open source) are used under their respective licences, with attribution in the app. SF Symbols are used under Apple's terms.
You may take screenshots of Zawal for personal use, social sharing, and reviews. You may not redistribute the app's binaries, datasets, or branded assets.
Use Zawal in good faith for the purpose of keeping your own prayers. Do not attempt to defeat the Pro entitlement system, distribute modified copies of the app, or use the app's data sources to build competing products.
Zawal is a prayer-times and Qibla aid, not a religious authority. Calculation methods legitimately differ between authorities, and reasonable timetables can vary by a few minutes; Zawal shows its parameters openly and lets you calibrate rather than claiming a single "correct" time. Use the app to support your prayers, and confirm against your local mosque or authority where it matters.
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. If you believe any time, direction, or text is wrong, write to support@evelaina.com and we will review it for a future update.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Evelaina is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of Zawal. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these terms is limited to the amount you have paid for Zawal in the twelve months preceding the claim.
This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded under your local consumer-protection law.
These terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the applicable national laws of the EU Member State in which Evelaina is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of these terms shall be resolved in the competent courts of that EU Member State, except where mandatory EU or local consumer-protection law gives you, as a consumer, the right to bring proceedings in the EU Member State of your habitual residence.
We may update these terms when product features, pricing, or applicable laws change. The current version is always at this URL with a "Last updated" date at the top. If a change materially affects your purchase, we will surface a notice in the app's release notes.
Questions, concerns, or refund disputes that Apple has redirected to us: support@evelaina.com.
May Allah accept your prayers.
