Overview

Your Shadow ("the App") is published by Evelaina. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and your rights. Given the sensitive psychological nature of this App, we take your privacy seriously.

Data Stored on Your Device

The following data is stored exclusively on your device using on-device storage (SwiftData) and is never uploaded to Evelaina's servers:

• Assessment results — your Dark Triad personality scores, Attachment Style scores, and assessment history.
• Third-party profiles — personality scores and labels you create for other people in your life.
• Daily shadow check responses — your answers to daily reflection questions.
• Shadow Lens analysis results — saved conversation analyses (the structured results, not the original conversation text).
• App preferences — onboarding status, display settings, and usage counters.

Data Sent to Third-Party Services

Shadow Lens (Conversation Analysis)

When you use the Shadow Lens feature to analyze a conversation, the following data is sent to an AI processing service (Anthropic) to generate the analysis:

• The conversation text you paste or the text extracted from a screenshot you upload.
• Your personality trait scores and percentiles (numerical values only, no personal identifiers).
• The selected person's personality trait scores and percentiles.

This data is sent over an encrypted connection, processed to generate the analysis, and is not stored by the AI service beyond what is needed to complete the request. No names, contact information, or device identifiers are included in the request.

RevenueCat (Subscription Management)

The App uses RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID to verify your purchase status. No personally identifiable information, assessment data, or conversation text is shared with RevenueCat. You can review RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, or contact information.
• We do not collect the names or real identities of people you profile.
• We do not collect location data.
• We do not access your photos, contacts, or calendar (camera/photo access is only used if you choose to upload a screenshot for Shadow Lens, and only the selected image is processed).
• We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising SDKs.
• We do not store conversation text on our servers. Conversation text is sent directly to the AI service for processing and is not retained by Evelaina.

On-Device Processing

All personality assessments, scoring, percentile calculations, compatibility analyses, and report generation are performed entirely on your device. The only feature that requires network connectivity is Shadow Lens conversation analysis.

In-App Subscriptions

Your Shadow offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions managed through Apple's App Store. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information.

Children's Privacy

Your Shadow is not intended for children under 17. The App contains psychological self-assessment content that is designed for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data Deletion

All assessment data, profiles, and analysis history are stored locally on your device. You can delete all data at any time using the "Delete All Data" option in the App's Settings. Alternatively, deleting the App from your device permanently removes all stored data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
