Larder

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 11, 2026

Overview

Larder ("the App") is a home-canning process companion — tested processing times and pressures, a guided canning session, and a batch journal with a pantry — published by Evelaina. This policy explains how the App handles your information. In short: Larder runs on your device and does not collect any personal data.

Data Stored on Your Device

The App keeps the following on your device only. It is never received, seen, or stored by Evelaina:

iCloud Sync

If you are signed in to iCloud, your batches and pantry are stored in your own private iCloud account (via Apple's CloudKit) so they can sync across your devices. This data lives in your personal iCloud container and is managed by Apple. Evelaina cannot see, access, or retrieve it. If you are not signed in to iCloud, your data is stored only on your device.

No Data Sent to Our Servers

Larder is self-contained. All lookups and timers run on your device, and the App does not connect to any Evelaina server or third-party service to function. There is no account to create and no login. The App requests no location permission — your altitude is a number you type in yourself.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the App schedules local alerts on your device for canning-session stages and the jar-rest seal-check reminder. These are local notifications only — nothing is sent to or from a server.

Subscriptions

Larder offers an optional auto-renewable subscription, "Larder Pro", that unlocks unlimited saved batches and the pantry & batch-journal export. The calculators and the guided session are always free. Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple's App Store (StoreKit). Your subscription status is verified on your device through Apple's system; Evelaina does not receive or store your payment information.

Data We Do NOT Collect

Apple Privacy Label

For reference, the App's App Store privacy label declares Data Not Collected.

Processing Information Is Reference Material

Larder presents home-canning processing times, pressures, and headspace transcribed from the USDA Complete Guide to Home Canning and National Center for Home Food Preservation publications, with the source cited on each result, and it never computes or invents a process of its own. This information is reference material for your planning, not a guarantee of outcome. Always follow a current tested recipe, keep your equipment in good order, and when in doubt consult the USDA/NCHFP guidance directly. Evelaina is not responsible for outcomes arising from reliance on the App.

Children's Privacy

Larder is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. (Since the App collects no personal information at all, this applies to everyone.)

Data Deletion

Your batches, pantry, and settings are stored on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your private iCloud account. Deleting the App removes the locally stored data; data held in your iCloud can be managed or removed from your device's iCloud settings.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
