This Privacy Policy explains what HifzPath does — and does not — with your data. HifzPath is built on a simple principle: your hifz is between you and your Lord. Your memorization progress stays on your devices, and it is never used for advertising.
What changed in version 1.7. HifzPath now includes Meta's SDK so we can measure whether our own ads actually work. This is ad measurement, not ad display — the app still shows you no ads at all. It means the app now asks for tracking permission, and that our App Store privacy label declares tracking. The sections below describe exactly what is sent, and what stays with you.
HifzPath is published by Evelaina ("we," "us," "our"). The app is distributed through the Apple App Store. You can reach us at support@evelaina.com.
HifzPath is local-first: your memorization progress is stored on your devices, with optional sync through your own private iCloud database. We operate no server that receives your hifz data. The app displays no ads. What leaves your device falls into three buckets:
Your memorization progress is never sent for advertising — not which surahs you've memorized, not your streak, not your quiz answers, not your mutashabihat history. That data is not sent to Meta at all.
To remove all doubt, HifzPath does not collect:
Meta's SDK may additionally collect limited diagnostic and technical data of its own; where that applies it is disclosed in our App Store privacy label.
Your hifz progress itself — which surahs you've memorized, your streak, your mutashabihat history — is not sent to a server we operate. It lives on your device, and (if you've enabled it) syncs only to your own iCloud account, as described next.
Your memorization progress, streak, mutashabihat history, and all related state are stored locally on your device by Apple's SwiftData framework.
If you are signed into iCloud and have iCloud sync enabled for HifzPath in iOS Settings, your progress also syncs to your iCloud Private Database — Apple-operated infrastructure scoped to your Apple ID and used by HifzPath via Apple's CloudKit framework. We do not have access to it. We cannot read it, export it, or analyze it. Apple's privacy policy applies to data held in iCloud. If you have iCloud Advanced Data Protection enabled, the data is end-to-end encrypted and Apple itself cannot read it; otherwise, Apple holds the encryption keys but is bound by their privacy policy not to access your data without your authorization.
If you are not signed into iCloud, or have HifzPath disabled in iCloud settings, the app continues to work — your data simply stays on the one device.
Three parties are involved in delivering and measuring the app, and only the minimum data necessary flows to each.
| Party | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Apple | Your purchase transaction (handled by App Store / StoreKit). iCloud Private Database storage if you've enabled iCloud sync. Apple's privacy policy applies. | To process your subscription or one-time purchase, and (optionally) to sync your progress to your other devices. |
| RevenueCat | A random anonymous App User ID, your purchase receipt and entitlement status, and limited technical information (device type, versions, locale, currency, country, first/last seen). If you allow tracking: also IDFA, IDFV, Meta's anonymous ID and IP address. | To validate that you have an active Pro entitlement, to support "Restore Purchases" when you switch devices, and — with your permission — to forward purchase events to Meta for ad measurement. RevenueCat's privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy. |
| Meta | An app-launch (activation) signal with no advertising identifier, for every user. If you allow tracking: also IDFA, Meta's anonymous ID, IP address, and trial/subscription/purchase facts (product, value, currency, status, time), delivered server-side via RevenueCat's Conversions API. | To measure whether our own ads work — that is, whether people who install HifzPath came from one of our campaigns. No ads are shown inside the app. Meta's privacy policy is at facebook.com/privacy/policy. |
Beyond the three above, we integrate no other third-party service. We operate no analytics platform of our own, and no advertising network serves ads to you inside HifzPath. Meta's SDK may collect limited diagnostic data as part of its own operation; that is disclosed in our App Store privacy label.
HifzPath is suitable for users of all ages and is not specifically directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect contact information, account credentials, or personal content from anyone, at any age. Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework governs the tracking permission described above; on devices where iOS does not offer that prompt, no advertising identifier is shared. If you believe a child has been asked for tracking permission in a way that concerns you, contact us and we will help.
We hold no name, email, or account that identifies you, so there is no profile for us to look up. You can withdraw tracking permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or iOS Settings → HifzPath; HifzPath stops wiring advertising identifiers as soon as you do. If you want to remove your hifz progress:
If you live in a jurisdiction with stronger data-rights laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), write to support@evelaina.com and we will respond within 30 days. On request we will ask RevenueCat to delete the customer record associated with your device's anonymous App User ID. Because that ID is generated on your device and not linked to your identity, you may need to supply it — it is shown in HifzPath under Settings.
We retain nothing about you that we could associate with your identity. Apple retains transaction records under their own retention policy. RevenueCat retains the anonymous purchase and attribution records for as long as Evelaina keeps its RevenueCat account, and for six years after that account closes. Meta retains ad-measurement data under its own retention policy; see facebook.com/privacy/policy.
We may update this policy if our practices change or if Apple's rules change. Any update will be reflected at this URL with a new "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will additionally be flagged in the app's release notes.
For any privacy question or request: support@evelaina.com.
May Allah accept your hifz.
